×If you can’t tell from our social media, we love a good party at Clearbox – with my background in hospitality, I know I certainly do…
Now, there’s always a time and a place for your typical Christmas dinner. A set menu, three course, drinks token kind of Christmas party. But in typical Clearbox fashion, we like to mix things up.
That being said, here are 5 alternative Christmas event ideas to get your team in the festive spirit.
Eat, drink and be merry.
Whatever your team is into, I can guarantee Taste & Tour will have you covered. Ditch the sit-down dinner and explore the best venues Belfast has to offer through an expertly curated food and drink tour. From the Gin Jaunt to Wine Wander and a 5 Stop Brunch, there really is something for everyone with Taste & Tour. Plus, your team will get the chance to chat properly, as opposed to only chatting to the person they’re stuck beside at a sit-down meal.
The beauty of Taste & Tour is they can also arrange bespoke, private tours for your team, based entirely on whatever you’re into – it’s a win win.
Get jiggy with it…
Belfast, in my humble opinion, has some of the best music venues about – you just have the stand in The Empire or the Ulster Hall and you’ll be convinced (other class venues do apply). There are a number of cool gigs to check out over the festive season, including and not limited to:
· Swiftogeddon (A Clearbox team fave)
· 80’s/90’s Christmas Crackers
· Ulster Orchestra: The Magic of Christmas
The Clearbox dancing queens (and John) had one of the best Christmas parties ever last year at Bjorn Identity, just don’t forget your flares and platform heels…
Fa la la Feast.
If your team is a bunch of foodies, a cookery class is a great way of getting your Christmas feast, while still having fun, and Belfast is booming for foodie options. Some of our faves include:
Located in Castle Street, slap bang in the centre of town, Belfast Cookery School has a ton of great classes to choose from. Think French classics, Mexican Streetfood and much more. The cookery school offers set classes on dates across November and December, and there’s also the option to choose your own menu and book a private class.
2. Waterman House Cookery School
Waterman’s Cookery School is in the heart of Cathedral Quarter, meaning that a cheeky Christmas pint is only right after your visit. The classes are well-structured and expertly run, and the pièce de résistance is sitting down with your dishes and a nice glass of something in the beautiful setting.
3. Baker & Chef
If your team has a sweet tooth, Baker & Chef is the perfect cookery school experience, but think less cooking and more decorating. From cake pops to cookies and cupcakes, your sweet-tooth team members will be pleased with this one!
Seasonal Senses.
Run by The Spirit Circle just above The National, Sensorium is an interactive drinks experience that will test all of your senses. Truly Belfast’s most unique drinks experience, you’ll be treated to a range of experiences that will test your senses. You’ll find out what kind of taster you are and what drinks you prefer based on your sensory profile – a much better experience than just hitting the bar in a cheesy Christmas jumper!
Sensorium books up quickly, so get ahead while you can…
Number 25, Christmas Day…
For all your team party animals, or bingo lovers, Bingo Loco is hosting a number of festive-themed events this Christmas, with an ABBA spin (can you tell we love ABBA?👀), that are worth checking out.
This super interactive event is sure to get your team dancing on tables, dancing off with strangers and battling to win a Henry Hoover.
Check out their events at the Telegraph Building, but be warned – these are not for the faint hearted…
