Dublin-based foodservice company, Brakes, has reinforced its commitment to continually developing skills within the catering industry by investing in formal training for all Sales Representatives.
As part of the company's continuous professional development (CPD) strategy, Brakes Sales Director, Gareth Clements and his team of Sales Representatives attained certificates in the Principals of Nutrition in Food Production from the vocational educational body, City & Guilds.
The 22-strong sales team who are responsible for building and managing key relationships with customers, completed intensive training course and final exam as part of a Level 2 vocational qualification, in conjunction with Unilever Food Solutions.
Designed to develop a comprehensive understanding of concepts associated with nutrition, the programme focussed on enhancing the core skills of Brakes employees, providing the sales team with a detailed knowledge of how chefs and staff working in kitchens can ensure their food meets the nutritional requirements of customers.
As part of the company's CPD programme, Brakes has announced plans for all staff to commit to gaining a thorough understanding of the trends and issues facing the foodservice industry today which will allow Brakes to continue to help caterers provide nutritious meals.
