It's been a while since you've heard from us folks - sorry about that - we've been here, there and everywhere launching loads of cool new stuff so apologies for the lack of Friday updates! There's been plenty going on in the world of the media this week - here's a quick run-down of the things that have caught our eye in the last seven days…Jet2 is a great airline, with regular flights from Belfast to some cracking destinations across Europe. What's not so cracking, however, is the brand's latest stunt to generate social chat and column inches. The airline organised a competition for the public to win free flights to destinations across its network. To be in with a chance of winning the tickets, the public simply had to find and chase Jet2 promotional staff through Derby city centre. Unfortunately for Jet2, some of the public became a little too excited by the chance to win a free holiday and the promotional staff were chased down, knocked to the ground and fights broke out between punters to claim the golden tickets…A few weeks back, we raved about Puma Football's campaign to the launch the new Arsenal kits. The sportswear giant has been in the news again this week, but it hasn't been entirely positive this time.Using some of its flagship football talent, Puma invited fans to get a digital picture of their favourite stars with a dedication, formed using the tweet sent in by the fans. As you can probably imagine, a few footie fans who didn't like said players hijacked the campaign for their own amusement.Next up, we're talking about the thing that everyone's talking about - the Ice Bucket Challenge. The campaign, which has taken social media by storm like nothing we've ever seen before, has thrown up some great celebrity videos for charitable causes. Among our favourites are George W Bush, Charlie Sheen, Anna Wintour and, of course, the one and only Liam Gallagher. Finally, we were sad to hear of the passing of broadcasting legend Gerry Anderson this week after a long illness. A lovely tribute to Gerry can be found here. That's all we've got for this week everyone - have a great Bank Holiday weekend and we'll see you next time.
