Our old friend Friday is here once again, and it has brought the Clearbox Weekly with it! Have a good weekend folks…This week, we've been gearing up (no pun intended) for the launch of Jyrobike, which is due to go live on Kickstarter next week. Check out these fab interviews on BBC Radio 2's Simon Mayo Show and the very cool Gadget Show ahead of the big launch. After speaking to the national press, the Jyrobike team hotfooted it to New York for the New York New Belfast conference with Lord Mayor Máirtín Ó Muilleoir and some of Northern Ireland's leading companies and influencers. Good luck to everyone in the Big Apple! In other news, we've seen some cool stuff in the press and on the web this week, including…WPP's AKQA acquired a 20% stake in Tunepics, one of the coolest new apps we've seen in a long time. If you've not had a go on Tunepics yet, it's a new social network from Justin Cooke, former Topshop marketing supremo, that combines music and photos to 'create a mood'While we're on the topic of acquisitions, Beats Electronics and Beats Audio have finally been taken over by Apple in a $3billion deal. We have our eye on the software side of this deal - not sure what it'll mean for the big headphones though…A twitter storm might be every PR's worst nightmare but this week we stumbled on a fantastic response to online controversy by Sainsbury's. After the company became embroiled in a social scrum because of this picture, the supermarket giant's social media team responded with aplomb - you can check out the full details of the case here…Finally, we visited the Smart Business Show this week and attended a great talk by our friends at Ardmore Advertising on the future of media. Well done to Mark Irwin and Mark Thompson - loving your work!
