Sofia (Fifi) Crawford-Walker joined Clearbox last summer. Before joining the team, she spent three years studying psychology with neuroscience at the University of Reading. We sat down with her to hear all about how she is finding the world of PR!

Why did you join Clearbox, Fifi?

“I did a six-week internship with the team in 2022 and loved the experience. I was just an intern, but no one ever made me feel like that. I wasn’t doing that much work compared to everyone else, but I still felt really valued in my role. It was the kind of work I wanted to do and the kind of place I wanted to work. I loved the team culture and was excited to apply when the graduate role came up.”

What does a typical day look like for you?

“I start my day in the office with a nice cup of tea and a scroll on the old socials, before opening my laptop and getting stuck into any emails I might need to reply to. I check my diary in case there’s anything important I need to prepare for, and then have a wee natter with everyone about what they did the night before. I spend the rest of the morning writing some media pitches, replying to emails, writing a blog post – doing whatever needs done, really.”

“At lunch I often have a chicken goujon and cheese wrap, before heading out for a walk around town to get some air. When I come back and get back into it, I will do much the same as the morning: whatever our clients need!”

What is the best thing about working at Clearbox?

“I’m sure everyone will say something similar, but our team. Everyone is very supportive and encouraging, and great craic. We are a great bunch.”

What is your dream Glastonbury line-up?

“This is a really hard one to narrow down, but if I had to choose, I would put Abba straight into that legend spot. My three headliners would have to be Queen, The Corrs and – I know they aren’t a real band technically, but that’s what dreams are for – Daisy Jones and the Six.”

Last question! What is your fantasy dinner menu? Three courses, from different restaurants, any in the world.

“So, the two places I have chosen have actually closed, but if there are no rules I’ll tell you about them anyway.

For starter I’d have pork scratchings from Bull and Ram in Ballynahinch. For my main, tacos from the Los Tacos Hermanos van on the Boucher road – their broth was also next level. And then for dessert it has to be a good apple crumble with custard and ice cream. Chef’s kiss.”
