The two Claires of Clearbox (Claire squared, if you will) jumped on a plane recently, and an hour and 20 minutes later, landed in London excited and ready to attend the prestigious Drum Marketing Awards.
After a (very) quick turn around and an interesting Tube journey to the beautiful venue of London's Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel, Team Clearbox was ready to enjoy the evening.
How many glasses of champagne they drank, what they wore and how many bad shapes they threw on the dance floor are just some of the questions you won’t find answered here. You will, however, hear about how they got on and, most importantly of all, discover if we won any prizes. Take it away, Claire Squared™.
The room was packed to capacity with over 500 of the top agencies and marketing and PR minds from around the UK. After some networking and a glass of bubbles, everyone was called to take their seats. Our table had an eclectic mix of young agencies and academics - from SEO management and influencer marketing to Alexa Skills developers. We were in good company.
Clearbox was shortlisted in two categories; Best Brand Experience for the Bushmills Irish Whiskey #AnswerTheCall campaign and Relaunch Strategy of the Year for the boxymo.ie campaign for rewarding safer driving. It was an honour to even be shortlisted for awards of this magnitude and the competition across the board was fierce so we weren't really expecting to take home any trophies.
We went up against the likes of Beano Studios, Schroders, Tin Man, Pukka Pies and Momentum Worldwide and were judged against campaigns for Mastercard, FIFA, Bacardi, Samsung, Vodafone and Topshop. When our categories came up, we were absolutely delighted when the host announced Clearbox had been awarded highly commended for both awards!
We are over the moon to be recognised on such a huge national platform less than five years into our journey. We’d like to say a huge thank you to our Bushmills and boxymo.ie teams for their hard work on these campaigns, and also thank you to our brilliant clients for letting us take the wheel (no pun intended) on these great ideas.
