The Clearbox Weekly - 4th April 2014

04. 04. 2014
It's time. The weekend is nearly upon us, it's finally Friday and the Clearbox Weekly has landed. We're one team member down today so there will be minimal mentions of Premier League antics in this week's instalment. Can you guess who's missing? If you can't get enough of the Clearbox take on the week's goings-on, make sure you're following @ClearboxPR on Twitter for daily musings and thoughts on the weird and wonderful industry that we like to call PR.We've had a busy week at Clearbox HQ with activity ramping up for Jyrobike's Kickstarter campaign in May. The Jyrobike team have been able to unveil some exciting, first-look renders of the revolutionary auto balance wheel. Pop over to and sign up for the newsletter to see for yourself. They almost rendered us speechless...We also attended the annual CIM Ireland Chair's lunch where the Marketing Manager of Coca-Cola, Aoife Nagle delivered an overview of the marketing strategy behind last year's highly successful “Share a Coke” campaign. This was, without a doubt, one of the most successful marketing campaigns of 2013 and we were lucky to get a glimpse behind-the-scenes thanks to the very lovely Aoife. In other news, Mike McGoldrick / Keith Cruise aka local up-and-coming comedian, Shane Todd, popped into Clearbox Towers yesterday for a cup of tea and a chat. If you haven't seen any of his videos yet be sure to check out his YouTube channel here. Some cool stuff that has caught our eye this week:#AprilFoolsPR gave us some crackers from Walkers Crisps with the Flavacator app, Skittles with their glow in the dark sweets and Samsung's wearable glove, Samsung Fingers.Meanwhile, Tango responded to April Fools hype with a #BoredOfAprilFools Twitter bingo card. If you can't join them, beat them...Paddy Power responded to £90 England shirt controversy in typically brilliant fashion by offering #FreeLions shirt giveaways on their twitter page. We'd like to finish up by wishing our fellow Holywood dweller and friend of the agency, Andy Hill from Dokoo Digital all the very best for his wedding this weekend. Congratulations, Andy and Nicole! That's it for now, folks. See you on the other side!
