Hi everyone! I’m Mark, I am 22 years old, and I have just joined the Clearbox team as a junior account executive.
As the new year began, I found myself thinking on life beyond university. A friend mentioned that Clearbox was advertising its graduate programme, and after applying – here I am! I was determined to ensure that Clearbox would be the place I would work after graduating, as Clearbox’s work, values, and energy completely matched what I was looking for.
I graduated in July from Queen's University with a degree in Business Management. I really enjoyed the great course as it covered so many different aspects of the business world, which allowed me to keep my options open beyond university. I had four amazing years as a student and I’m now excited to dive into the world of PR and explore all that it has to offer.
Outside of work, you’ll likely find me exploring new coffee shops (Established is always the go-to), watching football (a difficult few weeks to be a United fan) and spending plenty of time outdoors at the North Coast. I’m also a big fan of a concert, with Coldplay, Liam Gallagher and Sam Fender being among the best I’ve seen. After missing out on Oasis tickets, I’m holding out hope that more dates will be added for their tour next year!
I love photography and being able to combine both my passion for both photography and football is always a fantastic experience. After being part of the media team at this year’s Super Cup NI, I have since become part of Coleraine FC’s media team. Being a supporter of the club since I was ten, capturing photos on a Saturday is not something I’ll get tired of anytime soon.
This summer, I had the opportunity to visit Alaska and Canada. I love being able to explore new places and experience different cultures, and I was thrilled to capture it all through my lens. Photography allows me to relive all those significant moments that I love to look back on.
When I’m not busy, I enjoy coming home to Magherafelt. Spending time with my family and dog is something I will always enjoy. Magherafelt isn’t the epicentre of entertainment, so most weekends include long walks or a run through the Sperrin Mountains. I’m also involved in my local church, where I play guitar and lead worship most Sundays.
I’m excited to begin my career at Clearbox and learn as much as I can about the PR industry. Working here will provide me with the opportunity to work with a fantastic client portfolio and to learn from some of the best in the industry. Everyone has made me feel so welcome, and I’m looking forward to getting stuck right in with some exciting projects!
