Amazon in the Community

2015 - present

For six years, we've worked with the Amazon team across the UK, supporting communities and those in need. It’s a project we’re so proud to be a part of and something we’re honoured to play a role in.

Amazon in the Community (AITC) UK has been passionately supporting community organisations since Amazon opened its doors in the UK in 1998. What began as an initiative to offer financial donations to charities has become a highly-targeted, impactful and lasting programme of support and volunteering opportunities. At Clearbox, we are proud to have supported and worked alongside this amazing team for the past six years.

The AITC UK programme empowers and supports Amazon associates across the company’s network of operations and buildings to offer a helping hand to organisations and charities in their communities.

The mission of the AITC team is to provide support in areas including:

• COVID Community Engagement Response, addressing the urgent needs of communities who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

• Amazon Goes Gold, raising awareness around childhood cancer so that children can be diagnosed earlier, policymakers can make informed decisions and families can be supported by their local communities through difficult times.

• Address “Right Now” needs of children and their families by increasing access to food, shelter and basic goods.

• STEM/Youth Advancement. Inspire and increase access to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) and computer science education.

Our work with AITC has allowed us to support some amazing campaigns over the years, helping those in need at a local and regional level. A standout project is Magic Breakfast. Every day, more than half a million children in the UK arrive at school too hungry to concentrate and learn. Amazon has partnered with Magic Breakfast since 2016, and during COVID-19, has enabled the charity to provide over 2 million healthy breakfasts to children across the UK since the start of the pandemic.

Other stand out campaigns have included Amazon Goes Gold - Amazon’s annual campaign to raise awareness and funds during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and Amazon Future Engineer - a childhood-to-career programme designed to inspire and educate young people. And, not forgetting the local donations made to charities, schools and community organisations across the UK every month.

We are so proud to be able to support Amazon in the Community on such worthwhile causes and we look forward to delivering more great campaigns with the team in the coming years.
