Hello!

My name is Alex and I’ve recently joined Clearbox as the Office Manager. I am half Greek and half British, I’m married to a very funny Belfast man, and we have a seven-year old football obsessed son and a five-year old daughter who’s going on 15!

Three words I would use to describe myself: chatty (the office is well aware of this already I’m sure), enthusiastic, and a huge foodie! I’m loving the weekend coffee/brunch scene that’s growing here in Belfast, and I would actively encourage my family to join a queue if it is food related… well actually, I would patiently join the queue and my family would benefit.

My love for food has come from my Greek family. I had one of those idyllic 80’s childhoods (showing my age here) that most would dream of, growing up in Cyprus barefoot and sandy 90% of the time. You’ve not had a proper watermelon until you’ve tried one in Cyprus on a boiling hot day straight from the fridge.

What attracted me to Clearbox initially was the working hours. I was looking for a part time role as now that my youngest has started primary school, I felt it was time to get back into the workplace. Once I’d looked into the company, I was so excited to join. The culture and quirky values were right up my street and it was a fab opportunity to learn as the PR industry is completely new to me. It also has to be noted the office décor is an exact replica of my dream interiors Pinterest board – unreal.

When it comes to music, as an 80’s child obviously the genre has rubbed off massively – such good music back in the day! Any artist involved in the original Live Aid concert in 1985 gets my vote. More recently, my kids and I are very much into Benson Boone’s Beautiful Things, Ordinary by Alex Warren and anything from Teddy Swims. How children can know the words to songs almost immediately baffles me…

My guilty pleasure, however, has to be UK garage in the early noughties. This music brings back the most vivid memories of me as a new driver just passed my test blaring the Artful Dodger or DJ Luck & MC Neat from my little green Rover Metro!

My other interests would definitely be home interiors and decorating, cooking/baking and planning and participating in holidays – particularly the sunny hot far away variety. I actually met my husband on a ski holiday (me skier, him snowboarder) so it doesn’t even have to be a hot holiday… any trip away, count me in!

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first month of being part of the Clearbox team; here’s to many more.
